The Opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive, analytical Consultant to join our growing Controls Analytics Team—a globally recognised, award-winning group specialising in cost, risk, planning, and strategic controls solutions.

This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years’ experience in analytics, project controls, PMO, or related fields, looking to advance their expertise in high-impact infrastructure projects. You’ll develop data-driven controls analytics solutions, improving performance visibility across cost, schedule, and risk while supporting major global projects.

As a Controls Analytics Consultant, you’ll join a team leveraging cutting-edge analytics and emerging technologies to empower clients with the insights they need to make informed, data-backed decisions.


Role Overview

The Controls Analytics Consultant will play a pivotal role in:

  • Enhancing project performance visibility through advanced analytics, enabling smarter decision-making for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with planners, risk specialists, commercial teams, and project managers to optimise controls processes.
  • Developing practical analytics solutions that address real-world project challenges across cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Building expertise in project controls methodologies, technology, and best practice while delivering measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Controls Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards and reports, providing clear insights into project and programme performance across:
    • Cost variance analysis
    • Schedule progression (earsned value / progress tracking)
    • Risk and contingency tracking
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and flag deviations or improvement opportunities.
  • Present actionable insights to stakeholders, supporting governance and decision-making.

Data Modelling & Advanced Analysis

  • Support the creation of analytical models forecasting potential project outcomes based on current data and industry trends.
  • Identify correlation and predictive patterns to inform risk mitigation strategies.

Risk & Performance Management

  • Partner with risk and controls teams to embed data-led insights into decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to risk-informed forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting, providing a holistic view of project health.
  • (Bonus: Experience with quantitative techniques such as QSRA (Quantitative Sensitivity Risk Analysis) or QCRA (Quantitative Consequence Risk Analysis) is highly advantageous.)

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with project teams and senior management to refine analytics deliverables, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
  • Translate technical analytics findings into clear, accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure analytics methodologies align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on emerging analytics tools, methodologies, and project controls best practices.

What You’ll Bring

(Education, Qualifications & Core Competencies)

Skills & Technical Knowledge

  • Data & Analytics Expertise:
    • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel (advanced formats, pivot tables, macros), or similar analytical tools.
    • Ability to cleanse, analyse, and visualise data from multiple sources, extracting practical insights.
    • (Bonus: Basic exposure to SQL or Python or familiarity with data modelling techniques.)
  • Project Controls Awareness:
    • Understanding of core concepts including:
      • Cost planning and monitoring (e.g. earned value analysis)
      • Schedule variance analysis (e.g. critical path method, delay analysis)
      • Risk tracking and forecasting
    • Knowledge of industry standards such as ACCAE, Trapeze, or Sync 1000 toolsets would be beneficial.
  • Communication & Storytelling:
    • Strong written and verbal skills; ability to translate complex analytics into compelling narratives.
    • Confidence in presenting reports and findings to senior stakeholders.

Professional Development

  • Degree Holder: Bachelor’s in Data Science, Engineering (Construction/Civil/Management), Project Management, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • (Bonus: Pursuing or holding a relevant professional certification such as AACE’s CCP/CAP, APM, or similar.)
  • Relevant Experience (2–3 years minimum):
    • Background in analytics, project controls, financial reporting, or PMO environments.
    • Exposure to infrastructure, construction, energy, or consultancy projects, including cost/schedule/performance benchmarking.
    • (Bonus: Hands-on experience with cost modelling tools ( methylbd ), CPM scheduling (e.g. Altus Viewpoint, Oracle), or bespoke dashboard frameworks.)
