Project Controls Engineer
Project Controls Engineer – Glasgow

About the Opportunity
Our Glasgow office is expanding its Project Controls Team and is looking for a Project Controls Engineer to support projects across energy, renewables, defence, rail, and utilities.
As a Project Controls Engineer, you’ll partner with diverse clients to deliver best-of-class Controls, Planning, Analytics, and Reporting, alongside Risk, Change, Duration, Resource Management and Performance Solutions. As someone with a planning bias, you’ll ensure effective engagement and collaboration with the schedule, driving success throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution
- Collect progress data from multiple teams to update project/programme schedules in Primavera P6
- Gather and analyse cost data from diverse teams to support budget requests and update cost reports
- Develop monthly reports tracking progress against baseline targets
- Assist the Project Controls Manager in establishing and ensuring compliance with governance and assurance processes
- Note: SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role where applicable

Collaborative Contribution
- Engage dynamically with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Bridge technical gaps between different project teams to foster a data-driven, collaborative culture
- Maintain alignment between planning, cost, and risk management aspects
Requirements
Graduate Transition & Experience
- Recently qualified graduate with a relevant academic/technical background and some practical experience in project controls.
- Ideally, demonstration of proactive self-management and strong analytical/technical skills.
Core Competencies
- Hands-on experience in a project management or controls environment, responsible for delivery, governance, or portfolios.
- Proficient with controls software like:
- Primavera P6 scheduling
- Power BI and/or advanced Microsoft Office Automation
- Strong autonomy to deliver independently while supporting team objectives.
- Adept at managing deadlines, prioritising tasks, and communicating updates effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Clear understanding of project control methodologies and KPI frameworks.
