An leading consultancy delivering project controls expertise across some of the UK's most complex and strategically important defence programmes is looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of Project Controls professionals at all levels. Whether you're developing your career or already operating at a senior level, this is an opportunity to work on high-profile programmes where effective planning, cost management, risk mitigation, and performance reporting are critical to successful delivery.

Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must either hold current security clearance or be eligible to obtain it.

The Opportunity

Joining an established and growing project controls function, you'll work alongside programme leaders, planners, commercial teams, and client stakeholders to provide the insight and controls required to drive successful programme outcomes. You will gain exposure across multiple disciplines within project controls, supporting major defence programmes through every stage of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Support programme performance through effective cost management, forecasting, and reporting
  • Produce project controls dashboards, analysis, and management information
  • Assist with risk identification, change management, and programme governance activities
  • Monitor programme progress and provide accurate performance reporting to stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of project controls best practice across complex programmes
  • Collaborate with project management, planning, commercial, and engineering teams to drive delivery performance

About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who have experience in one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Project Controls
  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Cost Engineering
  • Performance Reporting
  • Risk Management
  • Change Control

You'll ideally possess:

  • Experience within defence, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or other complex project environments
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and structured programme delivery frameworks
  • Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive approach with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement
