Project Controls Lead

North-West | Hybrid Working

Permanent | Full-Time

£75,000 - £85,000k Per Annum, DOE + Benefits Package

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Controls Lead to join a growing infrastructure-focused consultancy environment delivering major capital programmes across the UK.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for Project Controls delivery, business growth, team leadership and commercial performance. Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, developing capability and ensuring successful delivery across complex infrastructure programmes.

This role is ideal for a commercially aware and client-focused leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Project Controls function across planning, cost, risk, change and reporting Provide leadership across complex infrastructure programmes, ensuring high-quality delivery and governance Take ownership of Project Controls commercial performance including forecasting, utilisation and pipeline management Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting bids and business development activity Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing Project Controls team Drive consistency, continuous improvement and best practice across systems, tools and reporting Lead business development activity including bids, proposals and client presentations Support the strategic growth and expansion of the Project Controls service offering

About You

Essential Experience & Skills

Proven experience establishing and leading Project Controls teams within consultancy or complex delivery environments Expertise across programme controls, cost management, risk management and change management Experience leading teams within infrastructure or consultancy environments Demonstrable experience managing service-line performance and commercial outcomes Strong stakeholder management and business development capability Experience delivering across large-scale infrastructure programmes Strong leadership capability with experience building and managing teams Strategic mindset with a strong track record of winning work and growing services Experience within infrastructure, construction or regulated sectors

Desirable

Experience within Nuclear & Defence, Power & Energy, Water or Transport sectors Chartered status or working towards chartership (APM, RICS, ICE or equivalent)
