Project Controls Manager | Major £160m+ EPC Project | Hull | Up to £100,000 + Package

Location: Hull (100% site-based) Salary: Up to £100,000 + car allowance + comprehensive benefits + site allowance Type: Permanent


Commercial Talent Solutions is recruiting exclusively on behalf of a leading engineering and infrastructure delivery business for a Project Controls Manager to join the leadership team on a major £160m+ industrial EPC project currently under construction in Hull.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the entire project controls function on one of the UK’s most significant process plant developments, working directly with the Project Director and Commercial Leadership Team to drive successful project delivery.


The Project

The project involves the EPC delivery of a large-scale industrial process facility, featuring:

  • Mechanical and piping installations
  • Structural steel packages
  • Electrical & Instrumentation works
  • Commissioning and start-up activities

The NEC Option B contract is currently in the main construction phase. The role requires an experienced Project Controls leader capable of integrating:

  • Planning
  • Cost
  • Risk
  • Reporting
  • Change management

within a single, high-performing function.


The Role

You’ll be responsible for leading all aspects of project controls, including:

  • Project planning and schedule governance
  • Cost engineering and forecasting
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Risk and opportunity management
  • Performance reporting and KPI development
  • Change management and NEC programme support
  • Progress measurement and productivity reporting
  • Leadership of a growing project controls team

You’ll work closely with senior commercial, construction, and engineering stakeholders to provide the project leadership team with data-driven insights for informed delivery decisions.

  • Major EPC or capital infrastructure projects in sectors such as:
    • Energy
    • Process Plant
    • Petrochemical
    • Chemical Manufacturing
    • Industrial Construction
    • Nuclear
    • Major Infrastructure

Desired experience and expertise:

  • Proficiency in NEC3/NEC4 contracts
  • Primavera P6
  • Cost engineering & forecasting
  • Integrated project controls

Ideally, candidates should hold experience from: ✔ Tier 1 contractors ✔ Major EPC organisations ✔ Consultancy environments
