Project Controls Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead all aspects of project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, and performance reporting across major capital projects.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for providing project controls expertise throughout the project lifecycle—from bid development and project award through execution, commissioning, and closeout. The successful candidate will drive project performance through robust controls processes, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring successful delivery against cost, schedule, and commercial objectives.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Client teams, you will play a key role in shaping project strategies, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering accurate performance insights to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Controls Leadership

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of integrated project controls systems across a portfolio of projects.
  • Establish and manage project baselines, including schedules, cost plans, resource forecasts, and performance measurement systems.
  • Ensure project controls processes, procedures, and reporting standards are consistently applied across all project phases.
  • Provide strategic project controls leadership and guidance to project teams and senior management.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules from bid stage through execution and completion.
  • Manage baseline development, schedule updates, critical path analysis, and schedule recovery planning.
  • Perform trend analysis and forecasting to identify potential schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Support project execution teams in developing realistic and achievable project delivery strategies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
