Help Shape the Future of Project Controls
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Controls Manager to join a leading global consultancy as part of a brand-new Project Controls team supporting one of the UK's largest regulated infrastructure programmes.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing and developing a new project controls capability from the ground up. Working alongside senior stakeholders, you'll help define best practice, improve governance and implement robust project controls processes across a major capital investment portfolio.
If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence how project controls are delivered, rather than simply maintaining existing processes, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
The Opportunity
As Project Controls Manager, you'll work closely with programme leadership, project managers and commercial teams to deliver best-in-class project controls across a complex portfolio of infrastructure projects.
- Provide leadership across planning, cost, risk, reporting and governance.
- Drive consistency, continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work within a collaborative consultancy environment.
- Help grow and develop the wider Project Controls capability as the team continues to expand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
