Responsibilities
Your role as a Project Controls Manager spans technical, commercial, and stakeholder challenges across complex railway and infrastructure projects from initial feasibility through to delivery and operation.
Key Activities:
- Support the Project Controls function across projects, ensuring alignment with:
- Schedule Management
- Cost Management
- Change Management
- Risk and Opportunity Management
- Collaborate with suppliers on engagements while maintaining robust processes to deliver:
- Integration of supplier information
- Measurement of suppliers’ progress
- Timely cost, progress, and programming updates
- Provide technical support and problem-solving for planning and controls across the PM&C portfolio, ensuring accurate forecasting.
- Advocate for best practice in project administration to enhance control and project forecasting.
- Optimise resource planning for project commitments and technical staff utilisation.
- Drive value for money by implementing systems and processes that align projects with client goals and cost/programme targets.

In parallel with project work, you’ll support major bids, engage with clients on upcoming projects, and contribute to (or lead) business initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in a relevant technical or commercial discipline
- Accessible pathway to Chartership Level (e.g., approaching Chartered or Chartered Membership of Rita, APM, ICE, or similar professional bodies)
- Client or project delivery experience in rail, metro, or transport preferred
- Proven ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Attention to detail for producing, validating, and checking reports/data
- Experience in a consultancy environment, with proven client relationship management skills
- Familiarity with Power Query / Power BI and other reporting/planning/contract management tools is advantageous
