About the Role
As a Project Controls professional, you’ll tackle a wide range of technical, commercial, and people-related challenges across complex railway and infrastructure projects, from initial feasibility through to delivery and operation.
Key Responsibilities
Key Activities Will Include (but Are Not Limited To):
- Supporting the Project Controls function and aligning with:
- Schedule Management
- Cost Management
- Change Management
- Risk and Opportunity Management
- Supporting the engagement of the supply base on projects, ensuring:
- Appropriate integration of supplier information
- Measurement of suppliers’ progress
- Timely supply of cost, progress, and programming information
- Providing technical support and problem-solving across the PM&C portfolio, including:
- Planning
- Controls
- Ensuring best practice project administration across the PM&C portfolio, delivering:
- Close project control
- Accurate project forecasting
- Optimizing resource planning to support:
- Project commitments
- Technical and staff utilization
- Implementing robust systems and processes to ensure:
- Projects deliver value for money
- Client goals and requirements are met
- Cost and programme targets are achieved

Additionally, you’ll interact with major bids, liaise with clients on upcoming projects, and contribute (or lead) wider business initiatives.
About Our Team
The Project Management & Controls (PM&C) team supports major rail clients through a variety of complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including clients like:
- Network Rail
- HS2
- Local authorities
- International project portfolios
A mix of Project and Programme Managers, Engineering Managers, and Commercial Management experts, our team works flexibly and collaboratively:
- Shares knowledge
- Develops team members and clients
- Delivers solutions for successful project outcomes
You’ll help project leaders through:
- Robust data provision
- Advanced analysis and insight
About You
We’re looking for the following:
- A degree in a relevant discipline
- The opportunity (or existing status) to achieve chartership, either approaching Chartered or Chartered Membership of a professional body
- Experience in client/project delivery (design or construction) in rail, metro, or transport is advantageous
- Proven ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams
- Exceptional attention to detail for producing, validating, and checking reports and data
- Experience in a consultancy environment with strong client relationship management
- Familiarity with Power Query/Power BI, plus expertise in reporting/planning/contract management tools preferred
