About the Role
As a Project Controls professional, you will tackle intricate challenges—technical, commercial, and interpersonal—across sophisticated railway and infrastructure projects, spanning feasibility, delivery, and operation.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Project Controls function across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with:
- Schedule Management
- Cost Management
- Change Management
- Risk and Opportunity Management

Collaborate on supplier engagements, refining processes to refine:
- Integration of supplier information
- Progress measurement techniques
- Timely reporting of cost, progress, and programming

Provide technical guidance and problem-solving expertise within the PM&C portfolio, particularly concerning planning and controls mechanisms.

Lead the implementation of best practice project administration for the PM&C portfolio, ensuring meticulous control and precise project forecasting.

Optimise resource scheduling to fulfill project promises and maximise technical staff utilisation.
Strategic Impact
You’ll champion robust systems and procedures to deliver cost-efficiencies and excel on client goals and performance targets. In parallel, assist in shaping bids, engage with current clients, and contribute (or lead) business innovation initiatives.

Our Team
Belonging to the Project Management & Controls team, you’ll support major rail clients—including Network Rail, HS2, and local authorities—on complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Alongside this extensive international portfolio, you’ll work alongside Project Managers, Engineering leads, and Commercial consultants within a flexible and supportive environment.
We thrive on collaborative knowledge-sharing, fostering growth for both team members and client partners. You’ll deliver projects through rigorous data-driven analysis and strategies, ensuring timelines and financials remain on track.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (relevant experience may also be considered).
- Pathway to Chartership: Approaching Chartered or Chartered Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., ACE, ICE, APM).
- Rail/Transport Sector Experience: A distinct advantage for those with knowledge of design or construction.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate faithfully within multi-disciplinary environments.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in reporting, validation, and data review.
- Client Consultation Skills: Experience within a consultancy environment, with proven relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- Technical Tools: Power Query/Power BI knowledge preferred alongside established planning, reporting, and contract management software.
