Senior Project Coordinator – EV Charging Projects
M Group Energy – Bootle, with 1 day hybrid-working flexibility
About the Role
This is a critical opportunity to drive essential electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure forward while ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer focus. As a Project Coordinator in M Group Energy’s Net Zero EV business unit, you’ll oversee EV charging project delivery, coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, and shape innovative solutions for a sustainable energy future.

Role & Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
- Lead design, planning, and coordination of EV charging projects, ensuring on-time, on-cost, and high-quality delivery.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders:
- Design & technical teams
- Operations & commercial departments
- SHEQ, IDNOs (Distribution Network Operators), Suppliers, and Subcontractors
- Senior management & clients (internal/external reporting)
Key Tasks Include
- Monitor & report on project progress, updating management and clients with clear, transparent status reports.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors—addressing concerns, escalations, and aligning solutions to needs.
- Coordinate resources to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, with clear timelines and required support.
- Manage contract programmes through design and build phases, ensuring timely updates and compliance with client requirements.
- Assist with project handover documentation, including health & safety files, inspection test plans, and compliance files.
- Facilitate communication between Contract Managers, stakeholders, and project teams across the full lifecycle.
- Efficient project administration (documentation, data management, and reporting).

Strategy & Improvement
- Forecast project performance and report to senior management and clients.
- Review and enhance contract delivery processes, refining procedural documentation where needed.

- Assist Project Managers and teams in delivering project tasks on schedule.
- Enable team success by ensuring resources, timelines, and clear communication.
What You’ll Bring
Crucial Requirements
✔ Essential:
- Previous Project Coordinator experience in a similar role (ideally within **infrastructure, construction, or energy").
- Strong project management skills, including:
- Developing project plans & timelines
- Tracking progress & managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Resource allocation & conflict resolution
- Outstanding communication (verbal/written) to engage with clients, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
- Builds trust & relationships by actively listening to customer needs, responding professionally, and delivering exceptional service.
- Attention to detail—critical for documenting safety files, contracts, and compliance artifacts.
- Proficient technical skills, including:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (analysis, reporting)
- Experience with database or project management tools (preference but not mandatory).
- Resilience & adaptability—ability to solve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Desirable (Advantageous):
- Formal Qualified Project Management certification (eg. APM, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Experience in the EV, renewable energy, or transmission/distribution sectors.
