The role
We’re looking for an organised and proactive individual to support the UNISON response to the Employment Rights Act in Great Britain and associated programmes of work.
Working across a wide range of internal teams and stakeholders, you will help ensure implementation activity is effectively coordinated, monitored, and delivered in line with agreed timescales.
This will involve working closely with senior managers, policy, legal, communications, data and insight teams, regions, branches, and external stakeholders to support successful delivery and engagement throughout the implementation process.
This is a fixed term contract role offered on an 18-month basis.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating implementation activity and supporting delivery across multiple workstreams to ensure key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Monitoring progress against implementation plans and developing reporting mechanisms to provide clear updates to project boards, working groups, senior leaders, and committees.
- Supporting the development, tracking, and dissemination of formal responses, guidance, briefings, and other implementation materials.
- Organising and facilitating meetings, presentations, briefings, and engagement activities with staff, senior managers, lay committees, regions, and branches.
- Building strong networks and relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders, including devolved administrations where required.
- Coordinating outreach and engagement activity across policy, legal, communications, equalities, organising, and operational teams to support consistent delivery.
- Working with Communications colleagues to promote key messages and ensure effective information sharing throughout the implementation process.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of implementation activity, identifying risks and opportunities, and leading or supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives.

About you
We are looking for someone with excellent project coordination, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills who can manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a complex environment.
You will be a confident communicator, able to build relationships at all levels, prepare high-quality reports and briefings, and facilitate collaboration across diverse groups.
Experience of supporting projects, programmes, policy implementation, or organisational change initiatives would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering high-quality outcomes, driving effective engagement, and helping ensure the successful implementation of significant legislative change.
