Project Design Engineer

At Camfil, we are looking for a capable and innovative Project Design Engineer to work within our busy and dynamic engineering department.

The successful candidate will manage contract orders from technical handover to sign off. This will involve generating drawings for approval and manufacture, creating detailed bill of materials, liaising with purchasing and coordinating site work where required.

The ideal candidate would be looking to grow and develop their skills within a multinational/ multidiscipline organisation.

For this position you can be based both in Haslingden (UK) and Chomutov (Czechia) plants.

Role Priorities

  • Convert sales order paperwork into a manufacturing & engineering job pack in line with company procedures.
  • Produce general assembly and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWORKS.
  • Detailed bills of materials (BOM) for manufacture within company ERP system.
  • Point of contact for both internal and external customer regarding drawing approval, delivery schedules, technical queries and customer issues.
  • Project scope can range in complexity from equipment supply only, through to equipment supply, install and site commissioning.
  • Support sales department with customer enquiries producing sales drawings and technical solutions.

Education & Work Experience

  • HNC or higher in an engineering subject.
  • Work experience in supply and installation of machinery and/ or sheetmetal fabrication.

Skills required

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills essential involving both internal & external customers.
  • Experience producing 3D CAD assemblies and fabrication drawings. Proficiency in SolidWORKS is essential; sheet metal design experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with working with MRP systems and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Demonstrable technical expertise with applicable hardware and software to include MS office products.
  • Electrical wiring, pneumatics, process instrumentation & control, CE & ATEX regulations would be beneficial.
  • Full training will be provided in technical aspects or our product portfolio.
