About The Role

We are seeking ambitious and enthusiastic Project Designers to join our Project Design team in Sheffield, UK. This entry-level role focusses on managing customer orders—from technical enquiries through delivery to final account settlement—while ensuring high-quality execution and seamless collaboration.

Main Responsibilities

The Project Designer will:

  • Order processing from inquiry to delivery

    • Progress customer orders through the full lifecycle to completion.
    • Communicate with customers to gather information, resolve issues, or provide critical updates.
  • Customer engagement

    • Ensure all team interactions are commercially appropriate, clear, and responsive.
    • Attend site meetings as required to gather design and programme insights or troubleshoot challenges.
  • Technical execution

    • Maintain rigorous project documentation and quality records.
    • Perform all necessary technical calculations to ensure accuracy.
    • Produce and refine manufacturing drawings and schedules to meet order processing standards.
    • Coordinate client approvals and instructions with manufacturing teams.
  • Design standards

    • Ensure all necessary drawings are produced to a high standard.
    • Generate approval-ready designs with clear, professional illustrations.
    • Issue drawings while adhering to project deadlines and client specifications.

Essential Criteria

  • An HNC or equivalent qualification in a building or construction-related subject.

Desirable Experience

  • A degree qualification in a building/construction-related subject.
  • Prior experience working in a construction-related design office environment.
  • Familiarity with Ancon products and their applications in construction.
  • Background as an architectural or structural technician.
