Description
Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger — and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there.
We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.
The Project Director — West Midlands is one of the most senior delivery roles in the business. Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you will own the delivery P&L for the West Midlands pod, lead a team of project managers, site managers and supervisors, and be Harmony's most senior delivery presence in the region — visible to clients, credible on site and the face of how we deliver our promises in the West Midlands market. While we bring the West Midlands pod to life, you will work in a hybrid pattern — field-based across live projects in the region, with regular time at our Yeovil and London offices to plug into the wider delivery and pre-construction leadership team.
This is a leadership role at the heart of how Harmony turns won work into delivered work. It is about bringing the right energy, accountability and resilience to our mission of saving lives through fire and height safety.
Key Responsibilities
Own the delivery P&L for the West Midlands pod — revenue, GP, cost-to-complete and WIP — managing performance against monthly forecasts with precision. Lead, develop and hold accountable a team of project managers, site managers and supervisors across a portfolio of passive fire and building fabric projects. Act as Harmony’s most senior delivery presence in the West Midlands — visible to clients, credible on site and the face of our delivery capability in the region. Own the clean handover from pre-construction into delivery, working in lockstep with the Pre-Construction Director to ensure every project starts well and finishes better. Drive programme, quality and safety performance across every live project in the pod, intervening early when projects are off track. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, frameworks and key decision-makers at a senior level, resolving issues before they escalate. Run weekly forecasting, project reviews and risk management at pod level, reporting up to the Head of Delivery with a clear view of what’s green, amber and red. Coach the pod’s next generation of delivery leaders — succession planning is part of the job, not an afterthought. Contribute to wider business strategy as part of the delivery leadership group.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
