About the Role

As Project Director, you will take full accountability for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of a portfolio of construction projects. This is a high-profile opportunity to oversee:

  • Stakeholder engagement and opportunity development
  • Project execution, safety, and quality assurance
  • Supporting London-based construction projects, particularly Cat B fit-outs, refurbishments, and heritage-sensitive environments

You will be the senior point of contact for clients, partners, and internal teams, driving collaboration, innovation, and client satisfaction across complex project environments.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide full leadership and strategic direction for the project portfolio
  • Develop and own the strategic business plan for** construction projects**
  • Anticipate client needs, exceed expectations, and foster transparency in all communications

Performance and Delivery

  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure projects deliver on schedule, budget, and quality targets
  • Manage project risks while ensuring compliance with:
    • Safety protocols
    • Environmental regulations
    • Kier Group policies and standards

Team Management

  • Lead, manage, and develop a diverse team
  • Driving collaboration to meet deliverables and foster a high-performance culture

Relationships and Accountability

  • Secure new opportunities and maintain industry reputation
  • Work with government agencies and navigate regulatory requirements
  • Represent Kier as a trusted advisor in construction and heritage projects

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Extensive project management experience within Tier 1 construction environments
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects with full accountability

Critcial Skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Degree in construction, project management, or a related field

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience working with immigration agencies or in heritage-focused construction
  • Familiarity with corporate governance and listed-buildings compliance
