Reports to: Head of Construction

Location: Remote or Hybrid options + travel to project sites (UK & Europe)

Role Purpose

This position provides senior technical leadership across Nscale’s programme of hyperscale data centre developments in the UK and Europe. Reporting to the Head of Construction, the role acts as Nscale’s subject matter expert for high- and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure, supporting safe, reliable, and compliant delivery across all active projects.

Operating at portfolio level, the role provides oversight and assurance across design, construction, commissioning, and handover, working with internal teams and external delivery partners to ensure electrical systems meet Nscale’s performance, safety, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior technical leadership and delivery oversight for HV/MV electrical infrastructure across Nscale’s hyperscale data centre portfolio.
  • Act as a subject matter authority supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant delivery of power infrastructure across UK and European projects.
  • Maintain appropriate governance, assurance, and reporting to support visibility of progress, risk, and technical performance.
  • Support design development, construction activities, commissioning readiness, and handover in collaboration with delivery partners and internal teams.
  • Identify and manage technical and delivery risks, contributing to effective decision-making and delivery certainty.
  • Engage with utilities, contractors, OEMs, and other stakeholders to support coordinated and timely project outcomes.
  • Provide technical input into commercial, procurement, and strategic decisions where electrical infrastructure is a critical factor.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standards, processes, and delivery approaches as Nscale scales.

Experience & Capability Requirements

  • Significant experience in HV/MV electrical systems within large-scale infrastructure, mission-critical, or data centre environments.
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership and assurance across complex, multi-project programmes.
  • Strong understanding of power infrastructure, system integration, safety, and regulatory requirements across UK and European contexts.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, utilities, and specialist vendors in complex delivery environments.
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, providing clear guidance while enabling delivery teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across internal and external partners.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic leadership style suited to a fast-paced, high-growth organisation.
