About the Role – LNG Projects

We are seeking a Project Director – LNG Projects.

The successful candidate will lead the technical and commercial delivery of projects within KBR’s LNG Project Portfolio, reporting to the Director of Projects to oversee Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design projects across the LNG value chain.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Safer, cost-effective project execution: Ensure all projects meet client satisfaction, contractual requirements, on-time delivery, and financial success—holding accountability for contracts.
  • Balance performance metrics: Drive exceptional outcomes in finance, HSE, client satisfaction, budget, and schedule performance.
  • Stewardship role: Serve as the primary liaison between clients and KBR, establishing strong working relationships.
  • Leadership across geographies: Build and sustain cross-functional project delivery teams spanning multiple locations and time zones.
  • Business development: Collaborate on new work pursuits, including client meetings, technical presentations, and proposal work alignment.
  • Policy compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, systems, and approved requirements.
  • Risk management: Monitor and actively mitigate project risks to prevent delays or reputational harm.
  • Financial stewardship: Maintain accountability for project financial performance, including signing authority for changes.
  • Status reporting: Provide transparent updates on project status and forecasts to clients and management.
  • Resource planning: Identify project resource needs and coordinate with resource managers.
  • Portfolio management: Manage single projects or multi-client portfolios, occasionally scaling responsibilities across assignments.
  • Strategic planning: Develop and maintain robust project execution plans, ensuring alignment with staged objectives and informed communication of variances.
  • Mentorship: Invest in professional growth by training and developing the next generation of LNG Project professionals.
  • Contract administration: Manage change orders, contract amendments, and risk mitigation through proactive collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Attributes & Qualifications

Technical Expertise & Domain Knowledge

  • Deep LNG expertise: Demonstrated track record in both greenfield/grassroots and brownfield LNG projects.
  • Environmental & sustainability acumen: Strong awareness of E/S/H/G issues, particularly decarbonisation opportunities in LNG supply chains.
  • Technical authority: Clear UP in C3MR processes and preferential familiarity with multiple LNG process technologies/licensors.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Visionary leadership: Drive project delivery through influential direction, fostering buy-in across internal teams.
  • International teams: Successfully guide and engage cross-functional, multi-cultural teams beyond company silos.
  • Resilience & commitment: Experience in ** construction subcontractor management**, inclusive of stakeholder engagement, Q/A, appointment, and contract execution oversight.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Communication: Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills, catering to diverse audiences.
  • Shared responsibility: Collaborative, results-oriented teamwork in fluid environments.
  • Local & global adaptability: Successfully executed projects across multiple global locations, maintaining performance excellence.
  • Adaptability: Continual ability to adjust to changing project requirements and deliver with precision within deadlines.
  • Monitoring & documenting progress: Mastery of reporting tools (e.g. Earned Value) and proactive lessons learnt.
  • Conflict resolution: Navigate complex client relationships and conflicts with diplomacy, including urgent technical, cultural, and contractual dynamics.
  • Dedicated integrity: Strict adherence to the KBR Code of Business Conduct and ethical standards.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Relevant degrees: Undergraduate degree in Engineering or associated STEM field.
  • Registration: Professional Engineering qualification (PEng, Incorp/EngTech) is highly preferred with complementary certifications (e.g. PMP, apmPRINCE2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Confidence as a Business Developer: Ability to gain trust from senior management and diverse stakeholders externally/internal, and influence strategic client clients beyond technical requirements.
