About the Role
We are growing fast in biomedical automation, expanding our high-volume manufacturing at our Witney Centre of Excellence, and need an ambitious Project Engineer to lead the design, validation, and integration of bespoke automated machinery. You’ll:
- Play a critical role in transitioning new validated production machines into industry-leading manufacturing, directly impacting the inspection and production of medical-grade biosensors.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to own the validation strategy, from project planning, risk mitigation, to technical test development.
- Develop expertise as a subject matter expert in automated equipment, driving continuous improvement with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day execution
- Create detailed project plans (timelines, risk assessments, stakeholder communication).
- Tie company-wide operational changes to their business impact, validating systems that ensure optimised manufacturing end-to-end.
- Assemble and validate capital equipment projects, enhancing production capacity for biochemical devices.
Technical leadership
- Take full ownership of technical equipment validations, designing real-world tests to verify machine capabilities under medical device standards.
- Work closely with suppliers, including site visits to monitor development progress.
- Document processes impeccably for regulated environments, ensuring compliance with stringent quality controls.
Growth mindset and contribution
- Expand into influential technical and management roles (senior engineering, mentorship, line management).

Requirements
Experience & Background
You have the appetite to define the future of medical automation within regulated environments. To thrive, you should:
- Hold a minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline (degree preferred).
- Deliver high-visibility automated machinery projects in a manufacturing/assembly context—minimise defects, document procedure and compliance protocols, and manage cross-functional teams.
- Favour structured problem-solving over ambiguity, focusing on quantifiable outcomes (e.g. by driving cost reduction, optimising turnaround times).
- Commit to high quality, including maintaining trackable, complex documentation for audits.
