Project Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of strategic telecommunications projects across Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical telecom infrastructure, collaborating with project managers, field engineers, and network operations teams to deliver high-quality installation, commissioning, and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation, and delivery of telecom infrastructure projects
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and telecom equipment
  • Conduct site surveys and technical assessments
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and project handover documents
  • Prepare Health & Safety documentation, including RAMS and POWRA
  • Work closely with customers, project teams, and network operations to ensure successful project delivery
  • Assist with fault diagnosis and technical support during project execution

  • Proven experience delivering telecom or network infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • IP Networking (LAN, WAN, MPLS)
    • Routing & Switching
    • CCNA-level networking concepts
    • Nokia SAR-H & Nokia NFM-PXTran technology
  • Experience installing and commissioning telecom equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Required)
  • Willingness to travel across Scotland and occasionally stay away from home
