The Company:

A UK-based private limited company, founded in the early 2000s in Leicestershire, that designs and manufactures precision engineered seals for the aerospace and defence sectors. The company supplies customised solutions used across commercial, military and business aircraft, operating from a dedicated manufacturing facility and holds industry quality accreditations such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.

The Role:

The Project Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering projects from RFQ, through to production implementation and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from concept through to implementation, including prototypes, new products, processes, equipment and materials.
  • Compile and take ownership of detailed technical proposals at RFQ stage, including preliminary designs, specification compliance statements, material selection rationale, technical risk assessments, and structured qualification and certification packages aligned to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead technical discussions during all stages, working closely with customers to define requirements and agree technical solutions.
  • Review and manage project budgets, ensuring appropriate selection of materials, treatments, tooling and manufacturing methods to meet technical and cost objectives (in collaboration with Commercial/Application Engineering).
  • Generate and oversee engineering activities arising from enquiry packages, including preliminary design concepts, tooling requirements, process capability assessment, resource evaluation and product/material qualification planning.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks early in the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, AS9100, military/ITAR and customer regulatory requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
