At Severn Trent, we're investing in our assets, infrastructure and communities to help secure the future of water for generations to come. We're looking for a Project Engineer to join our Capital Delivery team, supporting the successful delivery of a range of engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Working closely with Project Managers, contractors, designers and key stakeholders, you'll play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As a Project Engineer, you'll support the planning, coordination and delivery of capital projects, helping to ensure project objectives are achieved on time, within budget and in line with regulatory requirements.

You'll:

  • Support the delivery of engineering projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with design partners, contractors and operational teams to coordinate project activities.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and support the implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Assist with project planning, financial forecasting and reporting activities.
  • Ensure projects comply with health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contractors and customers.
  • Support governance processes, project documentation and project reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery and performance.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across project teams and the supply chain.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and passionate about delivering engineering solutions that have a positive impact.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience supporting the delivery of engineering, construction, infrastructure or utilities projects.
  • Understanding of project management principles and project delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including CDM regulations.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good commercial awareness and experience working to budgets, deadlines and project objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to challenge and influence where required.

  • Experience within the water or utilities sector.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts or project management frameworks.
  • An engineering qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of treatment processes or infrastructure delivery projects.
