Project Engineer – Development & Pre-Production (NPI)
About the Role
To provide comprehensive engineering and project support across the full lifecycle of development and pre-production (NPI) projects, ensuring successful planning, coordination, and execution. This role involves:
- Managing RFQ processing, cost analysis, and feasibility assessments
- Engaging with clients to interpret needs and ensure alignment with project specifications
- Supporting BOM management, procurement processes, and validation documentation
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to customer specifications
- Driving continuous improvement through methodology development and compliance with quality and validation standards

Key Responsibilities
Project Lifecycle Support
- RFQ processing, including:
- Material costings
- Methodology and feasibility discussions
- Cost card completion for commercial review
- PO/sales order/contract reviews
- Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring engineering projects
- Interacting with clients to confirm needs, requirements, and project agreements
Technical & Procurement Coordination
- BOM creation, management, and maintenance
- Overseeing materials and subcontract procurement processes
- Developing project-specific equipment specifications (e.g., machine allocation, timing plans)
- Collaborating with project managers and senior engineers to refine and optimize project methods
- Ensuring profitability awareness in project execution

Quality & Validation Standards
- Reviewing engineering tasks and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Creating data collection frameworks and project performance metrics
- Supporting compliance with:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Validation protocols and plans
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) custom specifications
Team & Knowledge Development
- Receiving additional developmental support and training where necessary
