Overview
We are seeking an experienced HV Cable Termination & Testing Operations Engineer / Technical Lead to safely deliver controlled and efficient operational activities while ensuring project profitability, quality, and client satisfaction.
The successful candidate will act as the technical subject matter expert for HV Cable Termination & Testing (T&T) services, providing engineering support throughout tendering, project execution, and operational delivery. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage both client relationships and site operations across renewable energy, power transmission, and offshore projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project documentation, technical reports, and project deliverables.
- Support tender submissions by producing method statements, equipment lists, pricing schedules, and technical documentation.
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Coordinate, monitor, and manage project performance to ensure successful execution.
- Oversee daily site operations and supervise operational teams.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while providing ongoing technical support.
- Ensure all contractual requirements are understood and delivered in accordance with agreed procedures, specifications, and project deadlines.
- Attend client meetings and site visits to provide technical support for Business Development activities.
- Supervise daily activities of project personnel and subcontractors.
- Monitor work quality and provide technical guidance to operational teams.
- Support and mentor team members to ensure successful project delivery.
- Plan project activities, monitor progress, and manage changes to work packs, procedures, and Management of Change processes.
- Promote effective teamwork and collaboration across projects.
- Ensure full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management Systems.
- Produce project documentation including Project Quality Plans, Risk Assessments, Safe Job Analyses (SJA), Management Reports, and other technical documentation.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and industry standards are followed at all times.
- Travel to client sites and offshore locations as required.

Technical Qualifications
Experience or qualifications in one or more of the following:
- Electrical Installation
- High Voltage Cable Jointing
- High Voltage Cable Testing including:
- VLF Testing
- Partial Discharge Testing
- Tan Delta Testing
- Damped AC Testing (desirable)
- Fibre Optic Cable Termination and Testing
- COMPEX Certification
- Transformer Installation, Inspection and Maintenance
- Switchgear Installation, Inspection and Maintenance

Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within the Power Transmission, Renewables, or Oil & Gas sectors.
- Proven background in High Voltage Cable Termination and Testing.
- Strong technical knowledge of HV cable testing methods, fibre optic termination and testing, and associated equipment.
Desirable
- Experience leading onsite delivery of HV Cable Testing and Fibre Optic Termination & Testing projects, preferably within offshore renewable energy.
- Experience managing project budgets, profit and loss, and financial reporting.
- Background in offshore electrical installation or maintenance within Oil & Gas.
- Experience delivering projects within a structured project environment.
- Experience working with:
- High Voltage Switchgear
- Transformers
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- HV Cable Pull-in Operations
