Job Introduction
Are you a driven Project Engineer with a process or chemical background looking to make a real impact? In this role, you’ll play a key role in delivering capital and special revenue projects that enhance site capability, improve efficiency, and support sustainable growth.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will support and deliver a diverse portfolio of engineering projects across multiple sites. You’ll work on initiatives that go beyond routine maintenance—focusing on plant improvements, efficiency optimisation, and long-term infrastructure development.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving best-in-class engineering practices.
Main Responsibility
Key Responsibilities
- Support and deliver engineering projects across all OBU sites, outside routine maintenance scope
- Contribute to solutions addressing plant performance, health & safety, and environmental challenges
- Develop and support initiatives that optimise and future-proof site infrastructure
- Provide input into Site Master Plans, 5-year strategies, and capital budgets
- Support project prioritisation and lead allocated engineering development projects
Project Delivery & Management
- Define project concepts and develop technically robust solutions
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare strong CAPEX justifications
- Identify and manage suppliers, tender processes, and contract negotiations
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Lead handover to operational teams with clear documentation and training
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Produce clear technical reports with data-driven recommendations
- Monitor and report on key metrics (capital spend, milestones, variations)
- Contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support operational engineering activities to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency

Our Ideal Candidate
What We’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Chemical, Process, or related Engineering discipline
- Proven experience in project engineering within a process or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of CAPEX project delivery and financial justification
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
