Job Introduction

Are you a driven Project Engineer with a process or chemical background looking to make a real impact? In this role, you’ll play a key role in delivering capital and special revenue projects that enhance site capability, improve efficiency, and support sustainable growth.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will support and deliver a diverse portfolio of engineering projects across multiple sites. You’ll work on initiatives that go beyond routine maintenance—focusing on plant improvements, efficiency optimisation, and long-term infrastructure development.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving best-in-class engineering practices.

Main Responsibility

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver engineering projects across all OBU sites, outside routine maintenance scope
  • Contribute to solutions addressing plant performance, health & safety, and environmental challenges
  • Develop and support initiatives that optimise and future-proof site infrastructure
  • Provide input into Site Master Plans, 5-year strategies, and capital budgets
  • Support project prioritisation and lead allocated engineering development projects

Project Delivery & Management

  • Define project concepts and develop technically robust solutions
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare strong CAPEX justifications
  • Identify and manage suppliers, tender processes, and contract negotiations
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead handover to operational teams with clear documentation and training

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Produce clear technical reports with data-driven recommendations
  • Monitor and report on key metrics (capital spend, milestones, variations)
  • Contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support operational engineering activities to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
