MEP Projects (UK) Ltd is a consulting and project delivery company specializing in mechanical, electrical, and process engineering across a wide range of industrial and infrastructure projects. The team also delivers risk assessments, HAZOP studies, power quality and resilience solutions, renewable energy projects, and energy efficiency initiatives, supported by NEC4-accredited project managers and CDM principal designers. MEP Projects (UK) Ltd works closely with clients and third parties to ensure safe, compliant, and optimized engineering outcomes.

Role Description

The Project Engineer is a full-time, hybrid position based in Leeds, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering engineering projects, including supporting feasibility studies, developing design documentation, and ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Collaborating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Preparing specifications and drawings
  • Contributing to risk assessments and HAZOPs
  • Assisting with commissioning and system optimization activities

The Project Engineer will support project planning, monitor progress against schedules and budgets, manage technical queries, and liaise with clients, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders. The role involves maintaining accurate project records, applying relevant standards and regulations, and promoting a proactive safety and quality culture across all assignments.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with the ability to interpret and develop technical designs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly with clients, colleagues, and third parties in both written and verbal formats.
  • Beneficial qualifications include a degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, and experience in industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
  • Beneficial skills include familiarity with hazardous area zoning, functional safety, commissioning processes, and relevant standards and regulations (such as CDM and HV/LV safety rules).
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills in a hybrid working environment.
