Project Engineer – Global Service Growth Team (GSGT) (Location: Hybrid, Up to 50% Global Travel)
Position Summary The Project Engineer on the Global Service Growth Team (GSGT) drives innovation in mechanical, electrical, and automated processes to elevate global service operations to world-class performance. This hybrid role merges hands-on engineering expertise with process design, automation, metrology, and FBS methodologies, enabling scalable tools, fixtures, test systems, and workflows that boost throughput, repeatability, and service reliability. The role demands engagement with global service sites, metrology, manufacturing/browse engineering, IT, and quality teams.
Up to 50% travel is required to support:
- Deployments & capability transfers
- Equipment commissioning
- On-site training
- Site enablement
Key Responsibilities
1. Tooling, Equipment & Test Systems Development
- Design, build, and optimize:
- Mechanical and electrical tools, fixtures, jigs, and test systems
- Service equipment
- Develop and refine electrical, functional, and automated test methods
- Create and maintain standardized work procedures
2. Process Design, Optimization & Qualification
- Perform time/method studies and capability studies (MMV, gage R&R)
- Analyze workflows for efficiency improvements
- Ensure alignment of mechanical processes with test requirements

3. Instrumentation & Metrology
- Enforce metrology best practices
- Collaborate with Metrology teams for validation and process integrity
4. Automation & Digital Workflow Integration
- Evaluate and implement automation opportunities
- Integrate processes into digital systems
- Optimize automated sequences for reliability
5. FBS Coaching & Lean Execution
- Coach teams on Fluke Business System (FBS) implementation
- Facilitate kaizen events to drive continuous improvement
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Engineering teams (manufacturing, service, test)
- Quality assurance & IT teams
- Support system-level improvements with scalable solutions
7. Global Deployment & Site Enablement (50% Travel)
- Travel globally to:
- Support deployments and capability transfers
- Enable sites for new processes/tools
- Ensure readiness via procurement & training
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in:
- Tooling design or process automation
- Metrology, inspection, or quality system engineering
- Field service or manufacturing engineering
- Technical proficiencies:
- CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Test/automation tools (LabVIEW, Python, PLCs, or similar)
- Statistical analysis (DOE, SPC, MSA)
- Strong problem-solving mindset
- Communication & collaboration professionals, proficient in cross-functional team engagement
- Global readiness due to extensive travel requirements
