Project Engineer

Sutton Coldfield

Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:00

GBP40,000 - GBP48,000 + Benefits

Opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a successful manufacturing business. This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for delivering engineering projects from concept through to commissioning, helping to improve manufacturing performance, efficiency, quality, and safety.

This position would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys managing projects, working with suppliers and contractors, and driving continuous improvement across a manufacturing environment.

The Role

  • Lead engineering projects from initial concept through to completion.
  • Produce and interpret CAD drawings and technical documentation.
  • Specify, procure, install, and commission new manufacturing equipment.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely and effectively.
  • Support continuous improvement and manufacturing optimisation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and site regulations.

About You

  • HNC/HND or Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience delivering engineering projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience introducing and commissioning capital equipment.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confident managing suppliers, contractors, and key stakeholders.
