Project Engineer (Medical Devices)
Location: Remote (Onsite in Leeds for onboarding) Duration: 6 months Hours: 37 hours per week
Imagine your next project as a Development Engineer working with Depuy, a global leader in orthopaedic and neurosurgical medical devices!
About the Role
Ownership and creation of key design history file (DHF) documentation
- Development of marketing claims and supporting evidence summaries
- Creation of surgical process documentation to support the launch of an orthopaedic system at an advanced stage of development
- Creating, updating, and compiling DHF documentation
- Technical writing & cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to make mid-level engineering and compliance decisions
- Curating documentation around MDR / FDA regulations
- Acting as a technical bridge with regular communication among:
- Existing team of development engineers
- Cross-functional partners (both UK and US-based)
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 5–10 years of experience in a similar sector (Medical Devices / ISO 13485)
- Strong experience and knowledge of MDR / FDA regulations
- Proven background in Medical Devices, with:
- Solid understanding of surgical processes
- Knowledge of how implants/instruments are utilised by surgeons
- Experience working within a global matrix (collaborating with teams across UK, US, and Germany)
- A professional, delivery-focused execution mindset
- Capability to work independently and on your own initiative

Additional Details
- This position is primarily remote.
- On-site attendance of 2–3 days only required for onboarding.
- 6-month contract looking for a quick start with minimum of 2 weeks for compliance.
