Project Engineer – Nuclear Sector

Location: UK-based (likely requiring high-level security clearance)

About the Role

The Project Engineer ensures seamless delivery of contract scope and work packages across the project lifecycle. Your responsibility? Aligning planning, safety, quality, time, and cost parameters—all while serving project objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define work scope, interfaces, and stakeholder alignment within contractual frameworks.
  • Lead communication strategies, deploying project execution plans (PEPs) under your contract/package.
  • Secure required resources to meet project milestones.
  • Oversee safe, on-time, budget-friendly delivery aligned to technical/business requirements.
  • Monitor progress, track milestones and budgets, and provide stakeholder reporting.
  • Develop, update (in collaboration with Project Controls), and manage:
    • Project/programme plans (including full costing and work breakdown structures (WBS)).
    • Risk and critical path assessments using designated software/tools.
  • Implement change control processes, updating documentation as needed.

Requirements

Preferred Profile

  • Education/Qualifications:

    • Min. HND in Management; Economics; Engineering; Construction; Quantity Surveying; or a related field.
    • APM Practitioner Qualification or equivalent.
    • Chartered status through an international body (e.g., APM Chartered Project Professional).
  • Experience:

    • Proven success engaging stakeholder groups in multi-disciplinary settings.
    • Hands-on experience in high-hazard environments (Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas, Aviation).
    • Familiarity with contract types (e.g., NEC Suite, FIDIC).
    • Awareness of CDM Regulations.
  • Personality & Values:
