Project Engineer

Location: Dyce, Aberdeen

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering business operating within the aero-derivative gas turbine repair and overhaul sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer or senior technician looking to progress into Project Engineering. Acting as the key link between customers and the workshop, you will manage gas generators throughout the complete repair and overhaul cycle, ensuring technical, commercial and contractual requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Unlike many traditional Project Engineering roles, this position offers a strong technical focus, with significant time spent working alongside experienced workshop technicians, translating customer requirements into technical work scopes and overseeing projects from receipt through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operations

  • Manage engines throughout the complete Repair & Overhaul cycle.
  • Translate customer contracts and purchase orders into technical work instructions.
  • Interpret inspection findings, investigation reports and test results.
  • Compile technical and commercial reports in accordance with company procedures.
  • Provide technical support to customers throughout project execution.
  • Maintain fleet records and customer statistics.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during project delivery.

Planning & Customer Management

  • Provide regular project status updates to customers.
  • Prepare reports for management to support financial forecasting and material planning.
  • Coordinate project schedules with internal departments and customer representatives.
  • Ensure contractual milestones and delivery dates are achieved.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
