Are you an organised and proactive Project Engineer looking to develop your career within a specialist engineering and manufacturing environment?

We're supporting a leading engineering business in New Milton who are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join their Technical team.
What’s the role all about?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you'll play a key role in coordinating engineering projects from enquiry through to delivery.
Working closely with Technical, Production Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales teams, you'll help ensure major customer projects and new product introductions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working across multiple departments, managing project schedules, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage project activities for major customer orders and new product introductions
- Maintain project schedules and track progress against agreed milestones
- Prepare and manage project documentation in line with customer and ISO requirements
- Monitor project status and provide updates to stakeholders, customers, and senior management
- Support quotation and bid preparation for new enquiries and projects
- Coordinate drawing updates and engineering change activities
- Organise and document project review meetings, including design, contract, and production readiness reviews
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure critical documentation is stored correctly
- Monitor project costs and support budget control activities
- Assist cross-functional teams with customer documentation, quality plans, and inspection plans
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to project delivery and business processes

What You’ll Need
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- HNC, HND, or Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Desirable
- Previous project management experience
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data
- Experience using project management software such as MS Project
- Knowledge of gated project management processes
- Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
- Experience within regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Nuclear, or Energy
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Inventor or Autodesk Vault
- Understanding of PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ, or similar product launch methodologies
- French language skills would be advantageous
