Project Engineer - Warrington

Murphy is recruiting for a Project Engineer to work with our Murphy Technical Services Team at the Warrington office.

About Murphy Technical Services (MTS)

MTS is growing and sits within the multidisciplined Specialist Businesses Unit of Murphy. This includes building, ground engineering, electrical services, utility connections, design and engineering, alongside the specialisms of the wider business.

A Day in the Life of a Murphy Mechanical Project Engineer:

  • Provide expertise in Mechanical and Piping systems within water industry projects
  • Leading Mechanical and Piping aspects of multi-discipline projects from concept through to completion
  • Assist with the development of the Mechanical and Piping work scope, delivery strategy, constructability, risk management / mitigation and programme
  • Assist with the development and review of Mechanical and Piping designs
  • Management of installation and pre-commissioning activities
  • Coordination of key stakeholders to achieve a successful delivery of various projects
  • Develop, Input and review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) aligned with company, national and project specifications
  • Interpret, understand, offer complimentary solutions in support or betterment of technical specifications
  • Development and management of pre-commissioning documentation
  • Work with planning team to develop programme for project area of responsibility
  • Acting as custodian of solution delivery responsibility across all phases of the project lifecycle, sense checking, co-ordinating designs, pro-actively driving procurement, both co-ordinating and checking of materials receipt, ensuring installation teams receive required materials, equipment and resources in a timely manner in line with associated contract programme
  • Selling and ensuring projects are delivered to the required standard and meets customer requirements, expectations, success criteria etc

Still interested, does this sound like you?

  • Good knowledge of static and rotating equipment, pipework, valves and inline equipment.
  • Good knowledge of design, process safety, procurement and installation.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate Mechanical and Piping aspects of large EPC projects.
  • Preferably relevant Engineering degree qualified, minimum HNC, with suitable Health & Safety experience and qualifications such as SSSTS, SMSTS, IOSH (Development and support with competencies open to suitable candidates)
  • Pro-active, resilient and a strong focus on customer service.
  • Steadfast and focussed on delivering safe, reliable and quality installations / solutions.
