Civil Project Engineer - 275kV Cable Installation - Scotland
CMC are supporting a client on an urgent project requirement within the transmission sector. The scheme is a 275kV cable installation project in Scotland, with the initial scope focused around civils delivery, ducting amendments, quality / ITPs, substation works, and the interface between civils and EHV cable installation.
The project is outage-led, with an immediate phase starting around 27th July and potential follow-on work across further ScottishPower / SPEN schemes later in the year.
We are looking to speak with Civil Project Engineers who have experience across transmission, substations, utilities, EHV cable installation, or major civils works.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Civil Project Engineer on transmission or EHV cable installation projects.
- Experience delivering substation projects.
- Strong understanding of cable routes, ducting systems, and civils interfaces associated with high-voltage infrastructure.
- Experience managing site teams and coordinating construction activities.
- Experience producing and managing quality documentation, including ITPs and inspection records.
- Ability to travel throughout Scotland as project requirements change.
- Previous SPEN / ScottishPower project experience.
- SPEN Competent Person authorisation.
- Valid SMSTS certification.
- Black CSCS card preferred, although Green CSCS may be acceptable.
- Fire Marshal qualification.
- General construction site qualifications.
