Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. Your Impact
Leonardo is seeking a Project Engineering Lead (PEL) within its Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) business as part of the Fast Jet Sector – Tornado Nose Radar/Captor Hardware Technical Support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage technical support work packages, regularly reporting on progress and health.
- Lead and oversee the Tornado Nose Radar (TNR) support team, ensuring effective delivery of project demands.
- Drive Leonardo UK-led TNR support activities for Tornado programmes.
- Contribute to and support Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings for successful outcomes.
- Deliver against commitments to internal and external customers and partners, fostering strong working relationships.
- Mentor, manage, and develop team members to enhance performance and capability.
- Allocate engineering tasks effectively to ensure adequate resources for timely delivery.
- Provide technical engineering input, solutions, and cost estimates for bids and proposal activities.
- Ensure project compliance with company policies and lifecycle management via appropriate reviews.
The role operates onsite four days per week at our Edinburgh site (Monday to Thursday) with flexible working from home on Fridays.

Requirements
Essential Requirements
- A strong engineering background, including experience in defence or government contracts.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly in managing a multi-disciplined team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling engagement and influence across junior, senior, and external stakeholders.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable Experience (Non-Exhaustive)
- Knowledge of technical support for military aircraft within ML1/ML2/ML3/ML4 facilities.
