Project Finance Analyst

Through our advise-build-operate model, we deliver fully customizable consulting solutions across the entire product lifecycle, covering regulatory sciences, clinical research, quality & compliance, pharmacovigilance, medical information, and R&D technology. We de-risk and accelerate high-profile drug and device programs.

In this role, the Project Finance Analyst will collaborate with the internal team to provide financial support, ensuring maximized project profitability and cash flow.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end project financial administration: Manage the lifecycle from startup, maintenance, and closeout, ensuring compliance with the contract budget
  • Project and contract module coordination (including assignment of rate sets/plans to activities, billing/revenue lines)
  • Financial status monitoring: Compare actual results with plans and forecasts to identify financial trends
  • Month-End Close process: Ensure accuracy and compliance for Revenue, Margins, & Accounts Receivable (AR) goals
  • Financial partnership with Project Manager(s): Proactively support projects for optimum financial outcomes
  • Budget analysis and variance reporting: Recommend actions based on financial trends and use monitoring
  • Study time report management: Verify and validate timesheet entries with project teams
  • Resource allocation: Coordinate with teams to assign members to projects
  • Compliance reporting: Provide timely revenue and billing updates
  • Invoice management: Monthly submission for all ProPharma projects
  • Internal and customer reporting: Include spend forecasts, project actuals, and cash flow analyses
  • Invoice reconciliation & backup prep: Support client requests as needed
  • Utilization & trend tracking: Escalate concerns on financial & contract limits
  • Additional duties: Ad-hoc support for Business Operations

Requirements

Skills & Abilities:

  • Attention to detail
  • Fast learner with growth mindset for dynamic environments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Invoice creation & submission experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts)
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Familiarity with clinical research or consulting preferred

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Management, Life Science, or related field

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 2 years in Project Finance at a Contract Research Organization (CRO)
