Location: This role is based in Manchester Square One. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered.

Band & Salary: Band 4B £35,582 - £43,400

About The Role

What does the average day look like?

In this role, you'll support the successful delivery of major rail projects by ensuring project information and data are managed accurately, securely and efficiently. You'll oversee the Common Data Environment (CDE), provide guidance and training to project teams, and help embed BIM processes and best practice across the programme. Working closely with Information Managers, project teams and external partners, you'll monitor compliance with Network Rail and industry standards, track BIM performance metrics, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs, and champion innovative approaches to information management both within Network Rail and across the wider industry.

You'll also work closely with engineering teams to support the effective use of Autodesk and Bentley design tools. This will include assisting with system and process improvements, coordinating and carrying out functional testing of software updates and new capabilities, helping users resolve issues, documenting outcomes, and providing feedback to support future development. You'll contribute to ensuring our CAD and 3D modelling environments remain reliable, efficient and aligned with business needs, whilst promoting best practice across the organisation.

About The Team

This role sits within the Engineering Services; Engineering and Asset management team - Digital Engineering. We develop, deliver and manage digital engineering systems and solutions for our buiness. We integrate these digital engineering solutions within our business to meet engineering and technical requirements.

Engineering Services is a function within Route Services. We sit as a central team to provide national skills and activities which enable regions and industry partners to deliver the railway for our customers.

Our team has diverse capabilities from engineering, project management, data sciences right through to system delivery experts, meaning we have the expertise to deliver the right integrated digital solution for our business.

Your Experience And Skills

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Project Information Co-ordinator who can effectively manage project documentation, information and data throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.

You will be confident working with information management systems, ensuring records are accurate, compliant and readily accessible, while supporting the successful delivery of Network Rail projects in a fast-paced environment.

You'll also play a key role in supporting engineering design systems and digital delivery tools, working closely with users and software suppliers to ensure solutions meet business needs. We are ideally looking for someone with experience of Autodesk and Bentley products, including CAD and 3D modelling environments, who can support system administration activities, undertake functional testing of new software releases and enhancements, and help drive the continuous improvement of our digital engineering toolset.

Essential Criteria

  • HNC/HND in information technology, engineering or construction discipline
  • Methodical and analytical approach to work, consistent persistent nature and integrity for maintaining comprehensive and accurate information and data management
  • Experience in the use of BIM technologies on a project or in the work place.
  • Experience in use of Industry standard Document and Data Management Systems on a project or in a work place.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with stakeholders of all levels across the projects and externally with the Supply Chain.

Desirable Criteria

  • Strong CAD and Modelling capabilities using Autodesk and/or Bentley applications
  • Capable of producing, conducting, operating and managing clash avoidance for construction planning (4D)
  • Capable of utilising point cloud and LiDAR data to facilitate design deliverable production
  • Experience in Autodesk Forma and/or ProjectWise and eB administration for project delivery
  • Detailed knowledge in the implementation of BIM and collaborative working processes (BS EN 19650, BS1192:2007, BS1192:4, AVANTI).
  • Working knowledge of Network Rail's PACE and SPEED Processes
