Job Title: Project Lead Appointed Person
Location
Garth & Whymott/Grendon Prisons, split across both projects in Birmingham and Chesterfield
About the Role
Due to continued growth, Select Logistics are looking for a Project Lead Appointed Person to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working on major projects and excel at building solid stakeholder engagement. This role will build on experience gained through our Logistics community ensuring best practices are put in place and communicated to the central logistics team for sharing across the business.
We are looking for APs who can plan, document and communicate to principal contractor standards technically, organised, structured and audit-ready.
These roles sit at the front end of significant projects involving multiple tower cranes, crawler cranes and high-volume lifting operations. You will be leading established lifting teams, supported by Select's industry-leading technical expertise and operational structure.

The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have a proven track record of planning and managing complex lifting operations in accordance with BS 7121.
- Able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge and practical application of:
- BS 7121 (Safe Use of Cranes)
- LOLER 1998
- PUWER 1998
- HASAWA 1974
Minimum Requirement
- A61 Blue Card (essential and in date)
Desirable Qualifications
- IOSH / SMSTS / NEBOSH
In addition, you must be confident producing professional lift plans, RAMS and supporting documentation using:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Crane Planner 2
- LICCON
