Are you a master of craft? Do you thrive in a team that succeeds together, demonstrating integrity and respect while acting responsibly? Do you embrace a growth mindset? We invite you to become a fan of the exceptional.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award‑winning owner and operator of some of the world’s most prestigious hotels, resorts, and residences. With a strong development pipeline across key global markets, we are widely recognised for creating exceptional luxury experiences through outstanding design, quality, and innovation.
About The Job
Based at the London Corporate Office, the Project Leader is responsible for leading the technical delivery of new hotel developments and major capital projects within existing hotels, from concept through to completion. Reporting to the Regional Director of Technical Services, this role acts as the single point of accountability and leads a multifunctional Regional Execution Team (RET) to deliver Mandarin Oriental’s product standards, timelines, and commercial objectives.
As Project Leader, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Act as single point of contact for assigned projects from concept design to completion. Lead and coordinate the Regional Execution Team (RET) in a multifunctional, collaborative structure. Manage owner and developer relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment. Enforce Mandarin Oriental Product Standards & Guidelines (PS&G) and resolve any non‑compliance. Articulate design and technical briefs to developers and consultants. Monitor project budgets, schedules, and risks, escalating issues proactively. Prepare design vision statements and contribute to design value and differentiation. Coordinate closely with Operations, Development, and Corporate colleagues throughout the project lifecycle. Support pre‑opening activities, including pre‑opening office setup, GM induction, and migration planning. Inform the Development Director of key communications, deviations, and risks in a timely manner. Oversee field project managers as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
