JOB DESCRIPTION

Business unit: Project Management
Prepared by: Reena Aslam
Date: 10th February 2026
Main purpose of the role
The purpose of the role is to provide strong delivery leadership across complex, technology-enabled initiatives with significant operational impact. Initially, this will involve the successful delivery of the TMS pilot and roll-out, ensuring operational adoption, delivery confidence, and a controlled transition into hypercare or BAU.
As the programme landscape evolves, the role will flex to deliver other priority initiatives, providing consistent governance, technical delivery oversight, and operational assurance across the portfolio.
TMS Delivery – Initial Phase
- Take end-to-end responsibility for delivery of the TMS implementation, including pilot and scale-up decision.
- Mobilise and maintain integrated delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, and budget controls.
- Lead the weekly delivery rhythm and provide clear status, risks, and decisions into SteerCo governance.
- Manage 3rd party TMS vendors and system integrators to ensure contractual and delivery outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Transport, Warehouse, IT, Finance, HR and Commercial.
- Oversee integration with core enterprise platforms such as IFS, WMS, finance and data platforms.
- Manage system testing phases (SIT, UAT) and readiness activities.
- Develop and own the go-live, cutover, and Go / No-Go decision frameworks.
- Ensure operational readiness, training, adoption, and early-life support (hypercare).
- Proactively manage technology, data, operational, and adoption risks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
