About This Role
Shape the Future of Strategic Delivery
The University of Wolverhampton is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive PMO Analyst to join our Strategic Projects team.
This is a key role supporting the effective governance, assurance, and delivery of strategic initiatives across the University. You will play a central part in ensuring projects are well-managed, transparent, and aligned with institutional priorities, enabling successful outcomes that enhance both operational performance and the student experience.
Working closely with programme and project managers and senior stakeholders, you will help drive consistency, insight, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting the coordination and governance of the University’s strategic project portfolio
- Maintaining and improving PMO processes, standards, templates, and reporting frameworks
- Tracking project progress, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple initiatives
- Producing regular, high-quality reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders and governance boards
- Ensuring accurate and timely project data is captured, analysed, and communicated
- Assisting in the management of project documentation, including plans, RAID logs, and status reports
- Supporting portfolio planning, prioritisation, and resource tracking activities
- Facilitating governance meetings, including preparation of papers, minutes, and action tracking
- Providing guidance and support to project teams to ensure adherence to project management standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement of PMO practices, tools, and methodologies
Essential
What We Are Looking For
- Degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant professional experience
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured way
- Experience in a PMO, project support, or project coordination role
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to data management and reporting
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a range of stakeholders
- Experience maintaining project documentation and governance artefacts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing independent responsibilities
Desirable
- Experience working within higher education, public sector, or complex organisational environments
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, MSP)
- Experience using project or portfolio management tools (e.g., MS Project, Power BI, or similar systems)
- Understanding of portfolio management, resource planning, and benefits realisation
- Professional certification or working towards accreditation in project management or PMO disciplines
