About the role
We're looking for a PMO Lead to build and own our Project Management Office from the ground up — establishing the processes, governance, and reporting structures needed to oversee a diverse and evolving portfolio of projects. Reporting to the Schemes Directors with a dotted line to the Managing Director, you'll work closely with Scheme Managers, the Research Hub, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are planned effectively, delivered on time and budget, and completed to the required standard.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you
This is a hands-on, varied role for someone with strong organisational skills and sound judgement, comfortable managing multiple workstreams — including new projects as they arise. You'll develop PMO frameworks and standards, establish reporting systems to track progress, risk, and KPIs, oversee supplier and research contract management, and build the capability of those who manage projects day to day. We're looking for proven experience in a PMO, project, or programme management role — ideally within renewable energy, circular economy, consumer protection, or another regulated sector — along with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels, including with senior management. A formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP, MSP) is desirable.
