Project Management Officer
PMO Manager – Banking & Financial Services
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical PMO professional to support strategadic programme management within a banking environment. The role focuses on:
- Programme reporting (weekly/monthly analytics)
- Financial governance & budget oversight
- Performance tracking & delivery milestones
The PMO Manager will act as the critical link between delivery teams, finance, and senior stakeholders, ensuring transparency, control, and insight across complex change portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme & Portfolio Reporting
- Produce high-quality weekly/monthly reports (RAID logs, milestone status, governance updates).
- Develop & maintain Programme dashboards (KPIs, RAG status, financial metrics).
- Consolidate multi-workstream data for executive-level insights.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency and governance alignment.
2. Financial Reporting & Programme Financials
- Track & manage budgets, forecasts, and actuals.
- Generate financial reports (burn rate, variance analysis, forecasting, cost tracking).
- Align programme financials with corporate reporting cycles.
- Identify financial risks, overspend, and cost pressures, offering mitigation strategies.
- Support benefits realisation reporting and business case tracking.
- Maintain financial governance (cost approvals, PO tracking, invoicing).

3. Governance & Controls
- Implement & enforce robust PMO governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations (PRA/FCA) and internal controls.
- Manage RAD logs (Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Provide prepared reporting packs for Programme Boards & Steering Committees.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Engage with senior stakeholders (Programme Directors, Finance, Risk, Delivery Leads).
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Influence stakeholders on financial accuracy and high-quality reporting.

5. Planning & Tracking
- Support programme planning (resource & capacity management).
- Monitor progress vs. milestones & financial plans.
- Ensure alignment between delivery & financial forecasts.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
✅ Banking/Financial Services PMO experience (proven track record). ✅ Financial reporting, budgeting, and programme financial management. ✅ Advanced Excel (pivot tables, forecasting, financial modelling). ✅ Experience producing executive-level reporting packs & dashboards. ✅ Strong understanding of PMO governance frameworks. ✅ Exceptional analytical & data interpretation skills.
Desirable (Bonus)
🔹 Tools experience: Clarity PPM, MS Project, Power BI, Tableau. 🔹 Knowledge of PRA/FCA regulatory landscapes. 🔹 Experience in transformational/regulatory change programmes. 🔹 Certifications: PRINCE2, MSP, or P3O.
