Project Manager (Cloud Technology)
Position Details
Reports to: Project Management Team Lead Team: Services Project Management Department: Services
Purpose of the Job
Utilising Bytes’ standard Project Management methodology and toolsets, provide professional project management services supporting the delivery of IT-related projects and services. Delivery resources may include internal human resources, software applications, and/or external specialist contractors.
The role involves overseeing:
- Project delivery of Cloud and Security-based solutions across diverse customer portfolios.
- Mobilisation and transitional phases of complex Managed Services, progressing these to Business As Usual (BAU) readiness.
- Handover to delivery teams, with ongoing involvement in some instances for BAU service aspects.
Key ownership areas:
- Project timeline, scope, and budget.
- Stakeholder management, reporting, and effective risk & issue management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project management across the entire project lifecycle.
- Lead and manage cloud migration and cloud-based solution implementation.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to design scalable solutions.
- Oversee business analysis, scoping, and facilitation of requirements workshops.
Core operational tasks:
- Manage project plans, scope, and budgets.
- Coordinate internal, external, and third-party resources.
- Ensure stage gates are met and project deliverables achieved.
- Manage exceptions, risks, and issues on behalf of customers.

Individual Responsibilities
- Scope and schedule projects; manage timetabling of internal and external resources.
- Oversee assigned tasks across all project delivery phases.
- Report progress to customers, highlights risks, and escalate issues accordingly.
- Ensure technical and compliance delivery through Solution Consultants (Bytes & vendors).
- Support Software Asset Management (SAM), procurement, and licensing.
- Maintain stakeholder engagement and transparency.
- Supervise team resources under matrix management, applying direct leadership where required.
- Maintain project documentation (e.g., status reports, sign-offs).

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Essential
- Extensive experience delivering Cloud and Security solutions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in recognised Project Management tooling (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent people management, coordination, and team skills.
- Current PRINCE2 accreditation or equivalent project methodology expertise.
- Background in IT/Software domain.
- Demonstrated time management and adaptability.
Desirable
- Azure Fundamentals and other Microsoft certifications.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM).
- Familiarity with licensing, procurement, and software licensing management.
- Knowledge of infrastructure management technologies.
