Lead the Delivery of Greener, Better Homes
Due to continued growth and the mobilisation of new planned works programmes, Wates Property Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of social housing refurbishment and decarbonisation projects across Herefordshire, covering Hereford, Ledbury and surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware and customer-focused Project Manager with experience delivering planned maintenance works within occupied social housing properties. We are particularly interested in candidates who have managed programmes involving Solar PV installations, Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs), and replacement windows and doors.
You'll be responsible for overseeing projects from planning through to completion, ensuring safe delivery, exceptional customer satisfaction, and strong commercial performance.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple planned works schemes, managing operational teams, supply chain partners and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

- Lead the planning, mobilisation and delivery of planned works projects.
- Manage Site Managers, Resident Liaison Officers, subcontractors and operational teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, residents and key stakeholders.
- Monitor commercial performance, budgets and forecast costs.
- Drive programme performance and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
- Oversee health, safety, quality and environmental compliance across all projects.
- Manage risk and implement solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
- Produce project reports and updates for senior leadership and clients.
- Ensure an excellent customer experience throughout the lifecycle of each scheme.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes within the social housing sector.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- ✅ Proven experience as a Project Manager within social housing planned works
- ✅ Experience managing multiple projects and operational teams
- ✅ Strong commercial and programme management skills
- ✅ Experience working within occupied residential environments
- ✅ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- ✅ Full UK Driving Licence
- ✅ SMSTS
- ✅ CSCS Card
Highly Desirable
- ⭐ Experience delivering Solar PV installation programmes
- ⭐ Experience managing Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) projects
- ⭐ Experience overseeing window and door replacement contracts
- ⭐ Understanding of retrofit, PAS 2035 and decarbonisation programmes
- ⭐ Experience working on SHDF or sustainability-focused funding streams
- ⭐ Strong knowledge of resident engagement and customer service within social housing
