Engineering Project Manager – Sidcup, Bexley
Location: Sidcup, Bexley, Greater London
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8am–5pm, 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities)

About the Role
We’re seeking a Project Manager to join our RJ Power / Ipsum team in Sidcup, Bexley, Greater London.
Core Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Leading, planning, and managing Maintenance and Project works to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and high standards.
- Maximising engineers’ efficiency to reduce downtime and enhance operational performance.
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships to drive business growth.
- Providing line management for a team, including technical and support staff.

Key Duties
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Review project specifications and liaise with clients and technical teams to establish deliverable requirements.
- Develop a comprehensive project implementation plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and cost breakdowns.
- Implement Client Construction Phase Plans on-site, creating essential documentation (e.g., RAMS, Task Briefing Sheets, Safe Systems of Work, O&M guides).
- Maintain project files, manage documentation, and coordinate with contractors for successful delivery.
- Lead Project Review Meetings to assess progress, address variances, and update scopes as needed.
- Investigate and report accidents and incidents, ensuring all parties are kept informed of outcomes and actions.
- Lead and manage teams, conduct performance reviews, and ensure clarity around roles and responsibilities.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide ongoing line management support.
About You
Essential Requirements
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the Power / Utilities / or Construction industry.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- A detailed understanding of HV/LV electrical installation techniques, with up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation, and technical trends.
- A Project Management qualification (e.g., APM register holder, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and knowledge of health and safety legislation – construction/engineering project delivery.
- Commercial acumen for managing budgets, costs, and project economics.
- Strong time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines for critical milestones.
- Exceptional organizational and attention-to-detail capabilities.
- A solid working knowledge of Health and Safety practices and Risk Assessment.

Desirable Qualities/Experience
Preferred, but not essential:
- IOSH Managing Safely certification or SMSTS competency.
- Advanced electrical qualifications or hands-on experience leading electrically based projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and Distribution Safety Rules.
