Project Manager
About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Ground Engineering team working on the Sizewell C project in Leiston, Suffolk.
Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.
We are more than just an alliance; we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.

- Monitor construction progress against programme, specification, internal procedures and client requirements, ensuring inspection and test plans are in place and non-conformances are reported and managed.
- Manage project constraints, changes and contractual requirements, working with commercial teams to assess impact, communicate with the client and support recovery plans where needed.
- Oversee subcontractor performance across health and safety, environment, quality, progress, cost, change management and feedback.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting on key project performance indicators, including safety, environment, quality, production, programme and financial performance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and colleagues throughout the project lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
