Project Manager – OHL (Overhead Lines) Delivery
Location: Elgin About The Role
We’re seeking a proactive and highly capable Project Manager to drive the successful delivery of the Beauly to Peterhead OHL project—a critical initiative shaping Scotland’s transmission network. This role offers an opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team on a nationally significant infrastructure programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, sustainably, and on programme
- Oversee OHL delivery, including tower erection, cabling, and temporary works
- Ensure robust safety systems, RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) reviews, and incident investigations
- Manage subcontractors, stakeholders, and client relationships effectively
- Own project budget, forecasting, cost control, and reporting
- Develop resource-loaded schedules and monitor progress
- Maintain Digital Briefcase and accurate project records
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience working across various project types, with a track record in project delivery
- Commercial/project management contract experience (practical knowledge of standard forms)
- Proficient in communication—both technical and non-technial stakeholders
- Strong safety awareness, implementing safe systems of work
- Excellent verbal and written communication across organisational levels
- Leadership skills, including mentoring and empowering teams
- Ability to evaluate performance, apply key metrics, and solve problems with solutions
- Inspires shared business vision and promotes diversity and inclusion
- Learning mindset with commitment to personal development
- Professional membership (e.g., Association for Project Management - APM)
- Proficient in O365
- Valid driver’s licence
- Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience
- CSCS and SMSTS certificates (or equivalent)
