Project Manager
Project Manager – Energy Networks Scotland Team
About the Role
BAM UK & Ireland is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our Energy Networks Scotland team.
In this role, you will:
- Play a key part in delivering large civil engineering projects for critical renewable energy infrastructure across Scotland.
- Support the Preconstruction Lead with the delivery of Engineering, Construction, and Integration (ECI) projects and tenders.
Your Team
- Based primarily at our site office in Kilsyth with site visits as required.
- Flexible working policy in place at BAM.
Mission & Responsibilities
Your mission is to support Framework Managers or Project Directors across a range of focus areas, including:
- Leadership and management of ECI projects/tenders, delivering successful outcomes across all areas while maintaining high professional standards.
- Effective communication with all project stakeholders and the broader community.
- Providing operational, strategic, and contractual direction for the entire project team.
- Safety and environmental champion through visible leadership (e.g., safety tours), operating as a safeguard for employees and subcontractors, and supporting HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment) initiatives.
- Ensuring environmental awareness and adherence to company policies.
- Driving quality delivery via structured planning and "right-first-time" execution.
- Mentoring and developing key staff toward their next professional level.
- Leadership of project teams, fostering commitment, morale, and motivation.
- Promoting cost-conscious management through efficient use of resources.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, project teams, and the supply chain.
- Securing repeat business through consistent stakeholder engagement.
- Managing project cost systems, ensuring accurate forecasting, financial control, and reliable Quantifiable Forecasts (QF) preparation and reporting.
- Developing and enforcing programme-based cost management to align with project deadlines.
- Establishing procedures for method statements, risk assessments, and activity plans, ensuring they are reviewed and updated proactively.
- Implementing commercial and financial project management practices.
- Assigning site-based roles to trained, experienced personnel.

What We Look for in You
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Civil Engineering project management experience (contracting or adjacent industries).
- Strong leadership and managerial capabilities for the role.
- In-depth knowledge of civil construction methods and forms of contract.
- Proven experience in engineering/construction project delivery.
- Senior-level stakeholder management track record.
- Experience with project governance and compliance processes.
- Energy sector experience is a plus.
