We develop the power stations of tomorrow and cultivate the skilled workforce to realise that vision.

The Role

As a Project Manager at UKAEA, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of projects within our diverse portfolio—spanning research, engineering, technology, and infrastructure. Your role ensures successful outcomes by aligning project objectives with business goals while maintaining safety, timeliness, budget compliance, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities extend beyond managing delivery to:

  • Translating business objectives into actionable plans.
  • Supporting the development of junior project professionals.
  • Ensuring seamless procurement and contractual compliance.

Experience-level adaptability:

  • Senior-level managers may take on team leadership.
  • Mid-carrier professionals will prioritise execution and governance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full project lifecycles, ensuring objectives are met safely, on budget, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, governance structures, and delivery strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, addressing risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, securing necessary resources for success.
  • Oversee risks, issues, dependencies, and change throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships with clear, consistent communication.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, governance frameworks, organisational policies, and engineering assurance requirements.
  • Support procurement and contract oversight, collaborating with Commercial teams and external suppliers.
  • Facilitate project governance through gateway reviews, project boards, and assurance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by embedding best-practice project management and mentoring junior colleagues.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
